Love Hugs & Prayers

In Memory of Our Perfect Angel Jadelynn Pearl

August 6th & 7th 2011

Jadelynn Pearl Schoeneck was born Oct 17th, 2003, a resident of Sugar Camp. Her first 3 years of her life was just like any other child.  She enjoyed playing outside, books and especially Dora the Explorer. Our Family walks would also include playing disc golf at the local course in Sugar Camp.  Jadelynn would walk with us throwing the disc and playing right along.  She would only make it to hole 7 though, because she could see the large playground and then disc golf wasn’t as important as "Her" Playground. Just after her 3rd birthday things changed dramatically.

Jade was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in Oct 28th of 2006. She endured numerous surgeries to remove the tumor and countless procedures and complications. During the seven months of Chemotherapy including  1 month of radiation Jadelynn never let anything get her down. She would smile and laugh and keep everyone on their toes.  Jadelynn had to relearn how to talk, walk, and eat. On May 14th, 2007 Jadelynn passed away from complications from the egg shaped tumor at the base of her brain.  She left her mark in this world in a very short amount of time and brought smiles to hundreds of people. She was a proud "Sugar Camper" all you had to do was ask her, and she would tell you.

Along our journey with cancer, the local communities of the northwoods especially Sugar Camp, came together and showed their love and Support in Jade’s battle. Angel on my Shoulder, a cancer support group out of St. Germain, was a very important organization during this time. The founder of Angel, Lolly Rose, would call us and send us words of encouragement and hope. Jade would also receive gifts that would keep her mind off of the overwhelming amount of medication and procedures she endured.

Because of our high Regard for Angel we are pleased to announce the 4th annual Love, Hugs and Prayers disc golf tournament in Memory of Our Perfect Angel Jadelynn Pearl. All of the proceeds will be given to Angel for there ongoing programs that help ease the pain of cancer for families and friends.

In the past 4 years we have raised over $32,000 for Angel on my Shoulder. The tournament will be August 6th and 7th 2011 at the Sugar Camp disc golf course. Everyone is welcome to play.

There are discs that can be rented and instructional help is available. Even if you have never done this before it is a great opportunity for some exercise and maybe you will even enjoy it. There will be prizes awarded for the top 2 person teams ($25 entry fee) and there is also a fun-family division ($25 entry for a 4 person team) for those not as experienced in disc golf. We also encourage families to just come out and play for a $15.00 donation. There are raffle prizes and food and beverages available on site.
